CMAE invites members to bring issues, concerns to light for discussion with district superintendents

CMAE Vice President Margueritta Brown will represent CMAE members at the October 23 meeting of the Superintendent-Teacher Advisory Council (STAC). STAC meetings are designed to allow for discussion of issues of concern with CMS Superintendent Earnest Winston. CMAE President Lawrence Brinson will also attend the STAC meeting in his capacity as the High School Representative from the Northwest Learning Community’s Advisory Council.

Members who would like to bring issues to light for discussion, or to ask question of concern, are invited to use the “Contact CMAE” portal in the right-hand column of the CMAE Bulletin to communicate those topics with CMAE officers. When sharing issues or questions, be as specific as you feel prudent.

Additionally, President Brinson encourages members to bring the same issues to conversations with their worksite’s Faculty Advisory Council (FAC). Matters raised there are carried by FAC Representatives to the Learning Community Advisory Council (LCAC) meetings with one of the district’s seven Area Superintendents.

Raising issues or questions at the level closest to the school ensures that others at the worksite are aware and have opportunities for input, and elevating them to the LCAC level guarantees that Area Superintendents have an opportunity to answer questions or resolve issues in advance of the monthly STAC meeting.

Members are always invited to bring matters to their worksite’s CMAE Association Representative. Association Representatives also meet monthly for grade-level conversations, and report such matters and questions to the full CMAE Representative Assembly for action.
