About CMAE

We are the oldest and largest organization of educators and education support professionals in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. CMAE members are part of a three-million-member unified education profession, affiliated with the North Carolina Association of Educators and the National Education Association.

Our mission is to be a strong, powerful guiding force in making a difference in public education, improving and strengthening our professional status through collective actions, and in developing students as global citizens.

CMAE's officers are employees of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, elected by dues-paying CMAE members to promote educators' voices, to represent educators' interests, and to safeguard and improve educators' professional and civil rights.
